Mr. Lin currently is investigating possible causes of neuronal degeneration. Mr. Lin is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a BA in Chemistry.
Previously, he was a research associate at the MS Research & Treatment Center at Roosevelt Hospital from 1998-2006. His research into neuronal degeneration resulted in a grant from the ALS Association. This work was based on the discovery of a novel protein associated with ALS that suggests that mitochondrial dysfunction may play a role in the disease. From 1996-1997, he worked as a research assistant at Columbia University Presbyterian Hospital under Dr. Saud Sadiq and Dr. Norman Latov, investigating immune-nerve interactions.
