Nicola Donelan, PhD
Research Associate
Dr. Donelan's research interests are the study of the viral cause of multiple sclerosis and investigation of the underlying mechanisms of disease progression. Her current research efforts focus on the study of herpesviruses in MS, and the identification of differentially regulated biomarkers in MS cerebrospinal fluid. In addition to her research work she is also active in coordinating pre-clinical studies of promising treatments.
Dr. Donelan completed her bachelor's degree in Chemistry at the University of the West Indies, and pursued graduate studies at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in the Microbiology department. Her thesis work was focused on the study of influenza virus, specifically the mechanism of action of a viral interferon antagonist protein.
