An important part of our research activity is education and participation at research meetings. In the past year (2010), six of our research assistants went to medical school and a seventh went to graduate school. In addition, in 2011, three research assistants are expected commence MD/PhD programs. We continue to have active recruitment relationships with Columbia University and Williams College that encourage graduates to spend one to two years conducting laboratory research. Go to our Careers section for more information on available research assistant positions.
The MSRCNY sponsors a summer intern program which allows up to four current college students to spend an 8-week elective period in the laboratory. For information on this program, please contact researchjobs@msrcny.org and specify “summer intern application” in the subject line.
Other academic activities at the MSRCNY include a weekly Grand Rounds presentation. MS experts from around the world have come to the MSRCNY to present their research and discuss collaborations with our research program. The MSRCNY also holds a weekly Journal Club where a recent journal article is presented and discussed by the MSRCNY team. Recent topics covered in Grand Rounds and Journal Club can be found under MSRCNY news.
